It’s a new year and a new decade.  Economy is looking optimitic.  There are funds out there for Small Business Loans. People are just plain excited about starting new adventures.  Maybe you’re one of these people and have ventured into starting a new business.  Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom, or an entreprenuer, what I’m about to offer you might be some good advice when it comes to building your new website.

This is part one of a multiple guide.

What You Need to Think of When It Comes to Your New Website:

A Website should be Affordable

You may have shopped around and found some really high prices or quotes for custom websites.  Let’s face it, you are paying someone to design your site, create the artwork, then turn that all into code and make it look great on the web.  Sure, they’re going to charge you for all that, and a pretty penny.  Most custom websites start at $3,000.  But you’re just starting out and I can only guess that this isn’t quite in your budget. After all, that’s how you found me!  LyricalBiz can create a custom website for as little as $500.

You Should be Proud of Your Website

Your website is your calling card.  Gone are the days of Yellow Page ads.  What’s the first thing someone asks you? Is it “Do you have a website?”  You want to show off your business without looking like you didn’t have any money to spend and had to settle on a cheap design.  Your website is your marketing tool.  You need to be able to deliver your message and provide information your visitors can use.  Inspire interaction.

Beautiful and Effective

Just because your website is attractive to you, it doesn’t mean that it’s effective.  Websites are totally useless if your visitors can’t find the information they’re looking for and accomplish something.  You can’t afford to have a website that doesn’t market to your audience.

With all this in mind, think of how you want to build your new website.  Think of how you will market your product or services.  Think about who your target audience is.  Start brainstorming with friends or partners and write down ideas you would like to accomplish with your new website.

Stay tuned to my next blog post on some of the tools you will use as you create your new site.
