Now that I’ve finished re-branding my business, creating the new logo, choosing the fonts, updating Facebook, etc. it came time for me to put together new business cards.  One thing I

First off, if you don’t know what a QR code is, the first thing I think of when I see one is ATARI.  It gives me the nostalgic feeling of an old game of PacMan or Space Invaders when I see a QR Code.  QR stands for Quick Response.  Information is stored in the code that the business or individual wants to communicate through means of a smart phone scanner.  Scanners are also easy to find.  Just search through the Apps on your phone or table to find one to download.  I use one called ScanLife.

QR codes themselves are easy to create – just do a quick search on Google and you will find a number of online companies that will help you create on online for free.  There are even companies that can customize the color, shape, insert your logo or text with endless combinations.really wanted to do this time was place a QR code on the back as a quick way to connect with me while I’m out networking for new business.

While I was on the search to create one, I came across this company’s website – linkblots.com.  Here’s what linkblots does that sets them aside from other companies:

  • They will create a mobile landing page for you that you can design by uploading your logo or image
  • Allows you to show your business on a map, great if you’re brick and motar
  • Create up to 5 different links t0 any of your website pages, or outside links like Squidoo, Vimeo, etc
  • Create coupons with expiration date
  • Click to Call and Click to Text feature
  • and so much more.

In fact, I was so impressed that so much of what they offer is free!

Here’s an overview of how easy it is to create a QR code and mobile landing page:

Once you have your QR code created, you can download the image and place this on printed products or anywhere you think your code could get scanned.  I’m actually going to order a name badge with a QR to wear at my networking events!   I also have one on my Facebook page cover photo (I can also create these if you need one for your Facebook page – contact me!)

Here’s my fully customized QR code.  Give it a scan and see what happens!  I just had too much fun yesterday!
