This is a great article that just came out from one of my business associates, Bob McClain of WordsmithBob. Admittedly, coming up with blog posts and website content is probably one of the biggest struggles we have when maintaining a website or blog. Bob offers some great suggestions…
Getting more content on your web site is a great way to get more traffic to your web site. The search engines love it and it gives people a reason to visit again and again. You can also use the content or articles to steer people to some of your products or services.
The tough question is always, how do you get content if you aren’t a writer?
Well, I just got an interesting “request for quote” from my web site yesterday. an attorney contacted me wanting to know if I would be willing to swap writing articles for his web site in exchange for him creating a will for me.
I simply tell him how many hours it would take for me to write the article and he’d tell me how many hours it would take to create the will. Simple swap.
If you have a service or product that you could swap for writing content, don’t hesitate to contact writers. You never know how many of them would be willing to “do a deal.”
Good question. Aside from content swiping (which is viably good), why not employ quality web content writers? Just a friendly suggestion, by the way. Good luck!
Hi Philip – content swiping is all fine and good, providing that you credit the author and provide a link back to their site. After all, they just did you a service! There are also other solutions in addition to WordsmithBob’s to getting more content by contacting blog writers that you admire and ask them if they would be interested in guest blogging for your site. Chances are they will be flattered and it will provide a valuable back-link to their site. Thank you for your comment!
