Frequently Asked Questions about WordsmithBob's
Services, Website Analysis, SEO Copyrighting,
Search Engine Optimization and Web Design

Q. If my client needs web copy written, can I bring you in as part of my team or do I have to send them to you?

A. That is entirely up to you. I can operate either way. If you want to add a fee to my Copy Writing rate, then you can bring me in as part of your team. If you don't want to be bothered, simply give them my contact information.

Q. Do you charge by the hour or by the job?

A. I generally prefer to put together a quote for the finished Copy Writing job so you know exactly what your cost is going to be before I get started. However, I am flexible enough to work the way you feel most comfortable.

Q. Is your "Free Website Analysis" really free? What's the catch? Or is it a case of "you get what you pay for?"

A. I write my analysis in hopes that you will use my Copy Writing services to redo your website. If I send you a single page with a few obvious comments, you aren't going to learn anything and won't see a need for my services.

But if I send you an extensive analysis that digs through your site, gives you solid ideas and suggestions to make your site more user-friendly and a stronger sales tool, I believe you will ask me to re-write your site. If you don't, that's my problem.

And yes, the report is completely free with no obligation. You can even take it to another writer or your web designer if you wish. Here and here are two examples of reports.

Q. I'm in a big hurry. How fast can you put together a quote? And then how fast can you write my project?

A. If your project is a rush, I can usually turn around a quote in less than a day. Or if it is just a small job, I can probably give you a quote over the phone.

How long a project takes always depends on how busy I am and how extensive the project is. You can call me at 612-226-7667 for more information or email me at bob@wordsmithbob.com.

Q. Do you do other copy writing besides websites?

A. Certainly. I do all types of Copy Writing. I have done radio ads, billboard campaigns, brochures, sales letters, catalogs, leave-behinds, box labels and even photo captions. You can see some of my portfolio here.

Q. I don't want to deal with one outfit for design, another for SEO, and another for writing. Do you do web design and SEO?

A. I don't design websites. However, I have several web designers and SEO experts I can bring in and I will put together a complete package so you can enjoy working with a single source.

Q. What's the difference between copy writing and copyrighting?

A. Copy writing is all about writing the sales copy for any type of marketing material such as websites, brochures, sell sheets, billboards, ads, TV and radio commercials. I've even written the script for a "facilities tour DVD" for Cargill.

Copyright registration is the protection of "original works of authorship," including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works.
